ARTS: Pete Doherty postponed

The eagerly anticipated Pete(r) Doherty concert scheduled for Tuesday 13th of October, in Mandela Hall, sadly ended before it began yesterday, due to a health scare for the current Babyshambles and former Libertines front man.

NEWS: Mrs Clinton at QUB

The US Secretary of State and former First Lady has visited Belfast as part of her tour of Europe. She began her visit by addressing MLAs at Stormont in which she urged them to complete the devolution of policing and justice. “As a true friend, my hope is that you will achieve what you set out to do … to complete the process of devolution.” Following her visit to Stormont Mrs Clinton made her fifth visit to Queen’s University where she met with influential business leaders from the USA and local companies in a discussion chaired by Invest NI.

Bertie Ahern- The Autobiography

Three times Irish Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern appeared at Belfast’s Eason’s bookshop to sign copies of his newly published autobiography. Often described as an enigma of Irish politics, this latest addition to Irish literature guarantees an intriguing read. Former finance minister Charlie McCreevy once stated “I know 25 per cent of Bertie Ahern”…and that’s 24 per cent more than anyone else”.

NEWS: Dragonslayers celebrates successful freshers’ night

QUB’s gaming and anime society, Dragonslayers, recently held an impressive freshers’ night in the Students’ Union. The evening gave new students a chance to see the society in full swing, and included a raffle which contained almost £1000 worth of prizes.
